a poem inspired by blue
You first noticed me from your large cobblestoned stoop,
far out of my reach.
I looked back up at you from a vast, oceanic blue.
From that moment on, an unspoken bond I vowed to keep.
I am a cerulean sea beast,
You are an olive prince.
All but for this pain in my chest,
Never a more troublesome love commenced.
I hid under your castle's docks,
hoping some well-traveled persons would talk...of you.
Oh my prince, of the castle next to the sea,
You are spoken of so rarely.
I gather you are quiet, withdrawn, and small,
Perhaps they would take you more seriously if you were tall.
I am spoken of even less,
I am "creature", who cometh up from the murky deep,
Not a suitable match for someone of your pedigree.
But I can't stop my emotions from falling on cold stones,
they are the waves at your shore,
consistently whispering "I love you evermore".
