Biology the Poem

 Biology is complicated, like DNA, 

The science of how we exist this way,

Observing and testing, information flowing, like rivers from dendrites,

Creating the science of life, like Darwin evolving, 

Medicine solving personalized problems,

Medications are genetically absolving, us from predispositions, 

Creating biotechnology to test hypotheses, broadening the exposition,

Human immune systems growing, like the microbes,

Bacteria, in our gut biomes flowing,

In communities and populations, systems like ecology, consuming energy, 

ATP being used, breaking down macromolecules,

In our Bic Macs, in our sustainable brown paper sacks. 

Sustainability the future, maintaining yards that feature

Diverse plant life for biodiversity to grow, like sutures on the bigger problem.

These lessons an adventure in the compounded nature of life on Earth,

As if we were all just chemicals with a covalent bond.
